Gmail Login – Help and Troubleshooting.

Log in to Gmail.com in seconds and get solutions for common Gmail login problems.

Gmail is an email service, developed by Google, which first launched in 2004. It is owned by Google’s parent company, Alphabet Inc. and is one of the world’s most popular free email services. The service is available for both personal and business use, and can be accessed through a web browser, or through native apps for Android or iOS.

One of Gmail’s defining features is the large amount of storage space provided. Indeed, at present, users are allocated up to 15GB and can receive individual emails of up to 50MB. The service is also free to use, is available in more than 70 different languages and has more than one billion active users globally.

Gmail automatically scans messages for viruses, malware and spam. The service can also be synchronised with third-party software and mobile applications, through the use of POP or IMAP protocols.

Gmail Sign Up.

The Gmail sign up process is relatively straight forward and can be carried out by visiting the main homepage (www.gmail.com) or from within the mobile app. To begin the process, click on ‘Create an Account’. From there, you will be able to register an account for use with all Google services, including Gmail, YouTube and Google Maps.

On the next page, you will see the Gmail sign up form. Here, you will need to enter the following information:

  • Name
  • Username
  • Password
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Mobile Phone Number
  • Current Email
  • Location

The username you choose will serve as the prefix before the ‘@’ symbol in your email address. The current email address you enter during the sign up should be an existing email address, which you still have access to. This will be used in the event that you experience problems when signing in and need to reset your password.

Once you have entered all of the necessary information, click on the ‘Next Step’ button at the bottom of the form. From there, simply follow the on-screen instructions to finish creating your new Google account.

Gmail Account Login.

After you have created an account, you can log in to you Gmail inbox, or your Google account in general, from the Gmail homepage, the Google homepage, or the Gmail mobile app. From any of those pages, or from within the app, click on the ‘Sign In’ button and you will be greeted with the main login form.

The official Google Account Login page is here.

On this form, you will simply need to enter either your email address, complete with the @gmail.com suffix, or your mobile phone number. If you opt for the mobile phone number, it must be the same number you entered during the sign up. Then, click ‘Next’. On the next page, enter your password and then click ‘Next’ again to sign in.

Although the Gmail login process is simple, it is worth noting that the password field is case sensitive, so you must use upper and lower case letters in the exact same way as you did when you signed up. If you opt to turn on two-step verification, a code will be sent via text message to your phone and this will also need to be entered.

In the event that you have forgotten your password, or if your password is not working for any reason, you can click on the ‘Forgot Password?’ link on the login form. By following the instructions provided, you can reset your password, have a new temporary password securely sent to you and regain access to your account.
